Friday, August 19 6:00-9:00pm $50 members/$60 non-members This workshop combines mindfulness techniques with watercolor to explore the self and create something joyful. This class can be taken multiple times since the emphasis is on your process rather than a perfect end product. What to expect: We will begin with a check-in mindfulness exercise to check in with the messages we’ve been telling ourselves throughout the day Brief discussion on self-compassion, especially as it relates to being an artist a.Identify phrases of self-compassion Project steps a. Cut paper to size b. Paint layers of paint in circles c. Write compassionate messages Close with relaxation exercise *Note: This class is not a substitute for therapy from a licensed psychologist. We will be going over mindfulness principles in an educational-type setting and in application to watercolor, but I encourage everyone to seek personal therapy for deeper exploration. Level: Novice, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
