This course is designed for artists of all skill levels, Basics of Portrait Painting: Flow and Freedom will guide you through the fundamental techniques of capturing life and expression while embracing spontaneity and flow. You will explore foundational portrait techniques, including structure, proportions, and facial features. Learn how to create expressive faces with loose brushwork and dynamic color. Experiment with different approaches to light, shadow, and texture for lifelike portraits.

Student Supply List:
Graphite Pencils: HB, 2B (preferable)
Watercolor brushes : natural squirrel hair/soft synthetic )
Watercolor paint of your choice, pallet,
140 Lb arches ¼ size paper
Light weight Drawing Board
Eraser – masking tape.
Note: Bring a few good quality close-up photos/prints (6x6 inches) of your choice as reference photos.
