Weekend Workshop Dec 9 & 10 9:30 am- 3:30 pm $170 Tuition/$150 members Explore the nature of abstract painting through mixed media. Collage, mark making and painting are some of the techniques we will use to design and create works that express the bold and exciting side of abstract art. Artists will create at least two works on paper or board that will involve making collage papers, layering translucent and opaque collage and paint to bring a history to the work.

Level: Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Supply List: Basic watercolor or acrylic supplies (acrylic is preferred). Can be fluid, soft body, or tube paint. A variety of collage paper including some that is plain. Mark making tools including water-soluble and non-water-soluble pencils, pens, stamps or stencils, and sponges are great. The instructors will have some tools available to borrow. 2-3 substrates that can include watercolor paper, cradled panel, or flat panel. Both paper and panels should be coated with at least one coat of gesso. #beBold #AbstractArt
