Exhibit Theme: Kids and Toys, Playfulness In honor of all the new springtime babies, this month's theme is focused on kids and toys. Children portrayed in the artwork may be any age, and each painting must portray the theme topic: kids, toys, or just the joy of being whimsical.
Juror Bradley Kerl: A native of southeast Texas, Bradley Kerl is a painter and arts educator at the MFAH’s Glassell School based in Houston. Bradley studied drawing and painting at the University of North Texas, as well as the University of Houston, where he earned his MFA in 2014. His work has been exhibited widely in Texas including solo exhibitions at Jonathan Hopson Gallery, Galveston Arts Center and Art Palace Gallery. He is known for painting crisp and vibrant botanicals with a David Hockney-esque approach to light.
Steps to enter your painting into the monthly show:
1. Complete the online registration and pay for your entry(s).
2. Email a photograph of your painting to admin@watercolorhouston.org. This will ensure that your painting will be displayed in our online gallery as well.
3. Drop off your painting(s) during gallery hours: 10 am - 3 pm, Tuesday - Saturday before the deadline.
Write your name and the title of your painting on the back of the painting.
No special label required.
