VIRTUAL - An Introduction to Florals in Gouache- Evening Class

Paintings may be created on individual sheets of paper or inside a sketchbook. Get your feet wet without the need to invest in new paints. We will discuss local colors found on provided reference images in order to create a simplified palette.

Level: Beginner Supply List: Your usual watercolor paints PLUS one tube of white gouache, often called artist or designers gouache (NOT acrylic gouache). Winsor & Newton and Schmincke are my favorite brands. Mixed Media or Watercolor paper sheets, or a spiral bound sketchbook with perforated paper - 5.5” x 8.5” (I prefer Canson or Strathmore) Brushes: 3+ Watercolor brushes of various sizes. I use two round brushes (Small and medium sized) and one small-ish flat brush. Palette Knife: 1 small palette knife that you’ll be using to mix paint on your paint tray. Rounded or pointed end - whichever you prefer. Paint tray: Plastic or metal. You’ll want enough space to mix paints. Graphite pencils: H, 2B, 6B Small spray bottle (I use a travel bottle with a pump spray) Water cup (A large plastic yogurt container works very well!)
