Level: Novice, Beginner, and Intermediate With the exception of other mediums that lend themselves well to the direct painting approach, watercolor is best suited to a bit of pre-paint planning and design. A basic understanding of drawing is essential to any painting program. In this class we will learn the constructive principles of drawing, and apply them to develop space and form in still-life, landscapes, and the portrait, specifically tailored for the art of painting. Week 1: Tools and principles Topics: Understanding the range of pencils, erasures, and blenders.
