Chinese brush painting provides a wonderful opportunity to closely observe nature. One key element of this distinctive style is the influence the materials have on form and technique. In this section you will learn to use Chinese brush painting techniques to paint the waterlilies, frogs. 

Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Supply List:

1.Brushes: one small and one large combination brushes (the bristles at inner shows brown color and surrounding with white bristles). One large wolf bristled brush (the bristles show brown color). One pointed detail brush.

2. Chinese Sumi-E ink.

3. Couple of white porcelain dishes or palette.

4. A paint mat.

5. A roll or a pad or oriental rice paper or couple of sheets Best Shuen paper, or a pad of “Hahnemuhle” Sumi-E paper.

6. Two paper weights, such as rocks.

7. A water container for washing brushes.

8. A box of Chinese watercolor 12 or 18 tubes.

9. A roll of paper towels.
