In this online workshop, we will explore the watercolor fundamentals and techniques often forgotten or taken for granted. This is an excellent course for beginners and experienced painters alike. Week 1 – Considerations of Color Theory, Value & Design Construct color wheel and value scale Week 2 – Getting to know the brush and flow of pigment Practicing flat wash and gradient while controlling the water bead Still life block in A study in building value Week 3 – Varied technique and fluidity Practicing layered and dynamic color mixing Using alternative tools (masking fluid, sponge) Landscape painting using wet into wet and dry brush techniques Week 4 – Maximizing control Practicing fresh, bold applications and the art of good timing Portrait painting using contrasting cool and warm colors Click here for Supply List
