Demo Artist: Katie Steck
Katie Steck holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology with a focus in psychophysiology and stress management. She has worked providing stress management for college students, care for those in mental health crises, and trauma research and education for communities. Katie utilizes this background in her current artistic work in a new exhibit called Feeling Blue—Stress Management through Art.
From the age of 15, Katie worked as a professional face painter, developing a unique artistic style infused with whimsy and joy. Katie also experiences a form of synesthesia where certain types of touch and color are experienced together, which informs many of the colors she uses in her paintings.
