SEPTEMBER MONTHLY PAINT-IN: Seeing the Light with Mark Stewart
Class: 9:30-3:00 on September 21, 2019
Mark Stewart, a WAS-H signature elite member, will encourage and guide the group as we study and capture the light in a watercolor painting.
Getting the lighting right involves color selection, understanding values, and composition...just about every skill set necessary to make a good painting. We will work together using a couple of nature subject prompts to understand light, the subject, and how to we can capture it in a painting.
Along with your regular painting supplies, please bring at least 2 sheets of good quality watercolor paper (I prefer 140 pound arches cold press), and a sketch book. I will be working on two sheets of 11"x15" Arches paper and I suggest that participants use approximately the same sized paper.
Bring a sack lunch, sweater/light jacket (in case the room temp is cool). We’ll have snacks and coffee!
