Jackie has an MFA, and is a longtime WASH Elite Signature, Texas Watercolor Society Signature, and National Society of Art Signature member with 40 years of art teaching experience. You may remember her May WASH demonstration and Paint-In.
This is an exciting three day session for intermediates ending with critique and a glass of wine. We will be painting three favorite watercolor techniques on altered surfaces: masa paper, collage with hand painted papers glued to watercolor paper, and diluted matte medium coated watercolor paper.
Supplies
Photographs for inspiration of animals, marine life, cropped architecture, flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables, butterflies etc. or your own contour line drawn compositions 15” x 21” of any of these subjects ready to transfer to WC paper / or Non objective ( abstract is fine too)
2 – 3 half sheets of 140 watercolor paper of choice
One – white or off white Bristle, illustration, or mat board, approx.. 17” -18” x 22” – 23’ (boards are used to mount the 15 ½” x 21” Masa paper, which I will furnish )
Small jar of matte medium for gluing
Watercolor brushes, and one old brush for gluing
A few sheets of white gift wrapping tissue paper, and /or Sumi papers
A garbage bag or dry cleaners bag
Your usual watercolor supplies: a support board, pallet or mixing tray, water container, your tube watercolors of choice, but must include a red, yellow and blue, burnt sienna, indigo blue and a tube of white gauche
a few colored pencils , a #2 pencil , white eraser
Extras:
Sketch book or some drawing paper, stencils, masking fluid, salt, paper towels, stamping items, a brayer ( if you have one)
