CHINESE BRUSH PAINTING - THE PINE TREE - Peihong Endris

Friday, Saturday, Sunday - September 21, 22, 23
9:30-3:30 PM      $150

The pine tree is a favorite subject in Chinese landscape painting. Sinuous, sturdy, and venerable, they are comparable to people of high principles and inner power. Pine trees also resemble young dragons, coiled in deep gorges, suggesting the gigantic potential of power. Pine is also one of the three trees symbolizing happiness. The others are bamboo and plum. In this workshop you will learn the power of brush works to depict the ideas that this unique perspective expresses on oriental rice paper. Peihong gives hands-on, step-by-step demonstration to each student’s work. Welcome all skill levels.
