Chinese painting is the integration of poetry, calligraphy, seal carving, as one comprehensive art. The poems and calligraphy inscribed on Chinese paintings not only help to supplement and deepen the artistic conception of painting, but also enrich the artistic expression of the painting, which is one of the important means for artists to express feelings, express individuality and enhance the artistic appeal of painting. So where we should put a name chop? and where should we sign the artist signature? Mounting is a unique process which takes your art to the next level. a painting that has been mounted shows more vibrant colors, crisper detail and is suitable for framing. In this workshop you will learn how to use chops to balance your masterpiece and how to mount your own painting.

Supplies needed for class:1. Brushes: one 3 - 4 inch synthetic hard bristle flat paint brush, one 3-inch soft bristle flat brush 2. A foam-board or any kind of board, such as sketch board, or wood board 3. Bring your own small Chinese brush paintings 4. A pad of Newsprint paper (50 sheets of 18"x24" acid-free paper) 5. A water spray bottle 6. Bring alum powder and a small jar 7. A kitchen towel or a roll of paper towels
