SUNDAY ART JAM

Join us as we kick off a new program at WAS-H! One Sunday a month we will offer one-day workshops on a variety of topics of interest to WAS-H painters. Each is a stand-alone event that we think will satisfy curiosity about new technologies, materials, techniques, etc., as we explore questions about watermedia in a hands-on way.

Kicking off our Sunday Art Jam series is a day all about our paints- the pigments used to make them, their properties, how they interact, and the many different paints by different manufacturers. What are the names and aliases of the “best” single pigment paints? Why and what are those numbers are on the tubes?  What do I need to know about transparent, opaque, staining, and granulating? Get the research-based answers in one spot on one comprehensive handout, and then explore with paints of all types at stations for hands-on experience.

Art Jam leader June 17 is Beth Graham, previous Education Director and current International Watermedia Exhibit Director.

Please bring these supplies: paper, brushes, water container, paper towels, any tube watercolor paints you have.
