PORTRAIT PAINTING - Prof. Mohammad Ali Bhatti
Tuesday afternoons, January 9, 16, 23, 30, 1:00-4:00 pm $150
Pre-requisite is Portrait Drawing by Dr. Bhatti. This class is designed to paint portraits in watercolor. The focus of the class will be learning the basics of portrait painting techniques, tonality, values, layering, creating an illusion of three-dimensional qualities through light and shade. There will be demonstrations by the instructor followed by the class working on different projects in a group or through a reference photo of your choice.
During this painting class, critique sessions will continue every day. Remember, good quality art supplies bring excellent results.

Supplies: 4-5 high resolution color prints 6x6” of people of your choice showing faces to shoulders; watercolor paints (tube or pan) and palette, pointed brushes #4 and #6 minimum, pencil HB with eraser & sharpener, paper towels, 1” wide masking tape, quarter sheet quality watercolor paper 140 lb (Arches), thin drawing or plywood board about 15x20.”
