Learn all about the watercolor paintings of Sargent. Learn the various techniques he used- dry brush, scumbling, wax resist, lifts, etc. In class we will practice these techniques and then select one of four Sargent paintings to paint. Instructor will provide color and black and white copies of each painting, with notes on key aspects of that specific painting. While the MFA-Houston does not have the full collection on exhibit as it did 2 years ago, digital images of the works will show up nicely on our 3 giant screens as we learn about this watercolor master.
