Wednesday  mornings Jan 11, 18, 25, Feb 1, 8, 15

10:00 am-12 noon

$150 plus model fee (usually $4 a day)

No matter what our skill level, we are always eager to move up to the next level.  Discover some professional techniques, sharpen your powers of observation, and hone your figure drawing skills.  Learn to use a shorthand of anatomical landmarks and directional lines to draw solid, anatomical structures that work. We'll also get inspiration from classic and cutting edge figure art and have time for demonstrations and personal feedback.  Beginning and intermediate level.

Supplies needed the first day:

Drawing Board - rigid, smooth surface, water resistant (minimum size 19” x 25”)

2 Bull Clips - largest size (to mount newsprint pad & papers to drawing board)

1 Pad of Smooth (not Rough) Newsprint - 18” x 24,” 50 sheets

1 Box (12count) Extra soft Vine Charcoal (Winsor Newton brand is good)

1 Prang Paper Wrapped Charcoal Pencil (soft)

1 Kneaded Eraser

Additional supplies:

1 Gretacolor Charcoal Pencil Soft

1 White Pastel Pencil or White Conte Pencil or Stick (soft or tiendre)

1 Tombow Brand Dual Brush Pen (this is a water soluble felt tip) in black or other dark color

2+ Sheets of Strathmore 446-7 Artagain Steel Gray Pastel Paper

2+ Sheets of Smooth, White Paper that can take water ~ 19” x 24” (like Bristol or 140# Hot Press Watercolor Paper)

1 Watercolor Brush Round - size 10 or 12 minimum

Double your progress!  Bring your lunch and stay after class for the Wednesday Figure & Portrait Model Lab (no instruction) from 12:30-3:30.  Model fee $10/member or $14/non-member.
