"Figures in Paintings"
Putting people in paintings can be a challenge. Making figures fit into a landscape brings life and emotion to a painting. It also brings action to a work of art. Much of my figure work involves personal commissions which demonstrate people in motion performing some type of activity
Many artists steer away from painting figures in scenes. Probably Michelangelo is the best known example of an artist who painted figures. His images in the Sistine Chapel comprise over 300 subjects. We may not reach Michelangelo’s level of skill, but figures in a painting can be, simple action figures.
