Your figure art is not only your expression of the human form, but of a particular person and all that their unique physical presence and gesture evoke in you. This class will focus on the face, hands, and upper body gesture, since these 3 typically comprise the strongest aspects of visual expression.Learn the underlying anatomical structures, their proportions, their relationship to each other, and how they change in different perspectives. Draw the head and facial features from various angles. Then, use additional artistic tools and drawing methods to help you learn to see and capture each model’s unique features and body language to create a likeness. There will be daily demonstrations, instruction, and sharing of resource materials with ample time for working from the model. New, smaller class size will allow for more one-to-one time with instructor for answers to questions, mini-lesson/demo, and critiques. Intermediate students.
Double your progress! Bring your lunch and stay after class for the Wednesday Figure & Portrait Model Lab (no instruction) from 12:30-3:30. Model fee $10/member or $14/non-member.
