Carla is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, and an elite signature member of WAS-H.
Born and educated in Canada, her paintings combine her love of architectural detail with attention to qualities of light and dark that transform commonplace scenes.
“When great painting ideas seem to fizzle before the artwork is finished, muddled middle values are often to blame,” Carla says. “Successful paintings take advantage of a full range of values – from the white of the paper, through glowing middle values to rich, velvety darks.”
Starting with the inception of your subject idea through planning and executing your painting to critiquing your finished product, Carla will cover ways of illuminating lights and deepening darks.
