Abstraction - Ann Erard
Ann is a longtime member of WAS-H and a Signature member. Her style of painting is called Abstract Naturalism, as she interprets natural forms into semi-abstract or non-objective paintings. She has studied and photographed rock walls in many places and loves using rock forms for inspiration. In this Paint-In we will work on painting rock forms in a semi-abstract or abstract fashion. Bring photos of rocks or rocky landscapes if you have them. Students should bring their regular watercolor supplies, including granulating colors. We will work on Yupo or regular watercolor paper. If using Yupo, you need a board to keep it flat to move the painting for carrying home, as it takes a long time to dry, and will run if tilted.
