Chinese landscape painting has had a profound influence on East Asian art and continue to inspire artists worldwide. Its emphasis on harmony, spirituality, and the beaty of nature resonates across cultures and time periods. In this workshop, students will learn the techniques of Rocks, Mountings and trees. Lean the spontaneity and control to the expressive quality of the brushstrokes. Each technique is demonstrated by the instructor. Students are receiving individual attention adapted to their particular skill level and interests. 

Student Supply List:

1. Paper: any kind of absorbent paper as Sumi Pager Jin-Pi, or Sumi Page Pi-Ma, a pad of oriental Rice paper. For beginners, the better Shuen paper is semi absorbency rice paper. You can go online search half Raw & Half Ripe Xuan paper. 

2. Brush: a large hard brush as wolf brush, or orchid bamboo brush, or mountain horse brush. a large combination brush, a small orchid bamboo brush.

3. A bottle of Chinese Sumi ink.

4. A box of Marie’s Chinese watercolor18 tubes, or Chinese watercolor 12 tubes.

5. A painting mat

6. Pallets

7. Paper weights - 2 of them.

8. Paper towel

9. A wash bowl or jar
