Practice creating collage papers with your gelli plate.

Discover how to create a concertina with your papers!
We will make lots of papers so come prepared to have a great time. This can be a messy process.

Supplies:

For concertina, at least 1 old painting or drawing, preferably ½ or full sheet-size, smaller will work too

or
½ or full sheet of unused paper. Does not have to be 140 lb, it can be drawing paper

For Gelli Printing:
A variety of papers. My favorite is printer paper. Others: rice paper, deli paper, parchment paper, thin watercolor paper, drawing paper, newsprint, old mail (even junk mail and catalogues), old letters, old book or music manuscript paper, wet strength tissue paper (another favorite). This is a chance to use up some old papers laying around.

  • Gelli Plate, at least 8 x 10”. Multiples are welcome
  • Fluid acrylics of various colors
  • Heavy body acrylic (optional)
  • Be sure you bring white paint or white gesso to mix with colors
  • Acrylic Pens, Posca pens (optional)
  • Palette knife
  • Mat or gloss medium or PVC or Elmer’s glue or Mod Podge
  • Old paintbrush for applying glue
  • Small collection of paintbrushes for acrylic (not sable! Not good brushes!)
  • Breyer
  • Baren or wooden spoon (optional)
  • Paper towels and/or rags
  • Stamps, corks, bottle caps, lace, leaves, things that you can make marks on the gelli plate with
