This will be a fun class for all levels. Yupo is a slick, synthetic paper that has wonderful lifting ability. With watercolor and the use of objects such as Q-tips, plastic embroidery grids, corrugated cardboard and other tools you will learn to create unusual textures with watercolor on Yupo. You really can’t go wrong. If you don’t like what you have created, simply wipe it back to the white of the paper and start over. So relax and discover the joys of painting on Yupo.
P.S. Several WASH members have won first place awards on this material!

Supplies
- A 10 sheet pack of Yupo74 lb
- A roll of Paper towels
Watercolors:
Basic 6 palette colors (You can use a limited palette if you want. I often paint with 2-3 colors):
Winsor & Newton brand
1. Winsor Yellow
2. Permanent Rose
3. French Ultramarine
4. Burnt Sienna
5. Cerulean Blue
6. Raw Sienna
Water Container:
One or more large water containers: an old gallon milk carton cut in half, a plastic butter container etc.
Paint Palette:
A plastic palette with a lid. It can be rectangular or round
Brushes:
If you can afford only one brush, buy a #8 round red sable watercolor brush. Otherwise buy the best synthetic or synthetic-blend watercolor brush you can find. Adding a round #4 and a 1″ flat would come in handy for detail work and large washes. Most manufacturers have starter sets that contain very usable equivalents.
