  • One monitor per class will receive discount in exchange for helping teacher with specific tasks. Registration code is given to those who have completed the training class.
  • Non-member registration fee is an additional $10.00 per day


IN PERSON -  Portrait Painting

The portrait class will focus on the fundamentals of portrait painting in watercolor. This  class is designed for those who want to improve human head drawing, forms, plans, tonal value, and techniques of portrait painting. In many ways, portrait painting is fun class. It is exciting, full of artistic challenges, as well as gives you confidence working with the loose brush and understanding of light and shade.

Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Supply List:

  • Graphite Pencils: HB, 2B (preferable)
  • Watercolor brushes ( # 02 to  # 06) natural squirrel hair )
  • Watercolor paint of your choice, palette 
  • 140 lb. Arches paper (22x30" sheet, cut in quarters)
  • Light weight Drawing Board
  • Eraser – masking tape – sharpener – etc.

Note: Bring good quality close up photos/prints (6x6 inches) of your own.


Face masks are not required, but are encouraged for those who wish to wear them. Visitors and 

students are asked to monitor themselves in regard to social distancing and health, and are expected to consider the health of themselves and others before entering the building.
